New Zealand Qualification Authority
The New Zealand Fluid Power Association is pleased to advise that the “New Zealand Certificate in Fluid Power Engineering Fundamentals (Level 3)” has now been approved by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA).
The aim of this qualification is to provide the Fluid Power industry, both Hydraulics and Pneumatics, with people who have a fundamental knowledge, understanding, and practical skills to work as Fluid Power technicians.
The qualification is designed for people who are already working in the Fluid Power industry or mechanical engineering as well as being suitable for people who are considering completing a pre-trade qualification before entering the mechanical engineering industry.
After completion of the qualification students will be able to apply.
Knowledge of health and safety, workplace policies and procedures, risk assessment, and safety culture to work safely on general engineering and Fluid Power engineering tasks.
Basic trade calculations to carry out Fluid Power engineering tasks.
Knowledge of selection for use, and maintenance of hand tools and portable power tools to general engineering and Fluid Power engineering tasks.
Knowledge of Fluid Power components, symbols, basic circuit diagrams, hazards, filtration, and principles to carry out Fluid Power engineering tasks.
Knowledge of basic maintenance of Fluid Power systems to remove and replace parts.
